Beginning Paper Piecing
In this beginning paper piecing class Ron will be showing you how to make this table runner working with Chatsworth paper piecing templates. The templates will be available to purchase in the shop. Please have all precutting done prior to class. Cutting instructions are listed below and will be available at Celtic Quilter if you would like a paper copy. There are a few kits with this Christmas fabric available.

Required:
Chatworth Braided Fly Geese Foundation Papers (Available at Celtic Quilter)
Operating Sewing Machine
Sewing supplies (This would include anything that you might need to complete a sewing project.)
Rotary Cutter
Add a Quarter Ruler (6 inch or 12 inch)
Cutting Matt (minimum of 12” x 18”)
Straight Pins
Glue stick or double-sided tape
Open toe foot for your sewing machine.
12” ruler (12” x 3” or something similar)
Seam ripper
Fabric – Cutting directions below.
Optional:
Personal iron and mat.
Cutting instructions
Fabric 1 (Background fabric) 1.25 yards Subcut into:
- 3 – 5.75” x WOF. Cut 20 – 5.75” x 5.75” squares. Cut each of these squares once diagonally for a total of 40 triangles. (for body of Flying Geese)
- 9- 2.5 x WOF, cut into:
- 10 – 2.5” x 20” (for sashing / border)
- 4 – 2.5 “x WOF (for borders)
Fabric 2 (Accent color for center of Flying Geese) .5 yard, Subcut into:
- 2 – 5” x WOF. Cut into 10 – 5” x 5” squares. Cut each of these squares once diagonally for a total of 20 triangles.
Fabric 3 (Accent color for sashing)
2 – 2.5” x WOF, Subcut into:
- 4 – 2.5” x 20” strips
Fabrics 4 (Accsent colors for the body of the Flying Geese)
- 40 accent fabrics cut to 2.”5 x 8”. (Jelly Roll friendly project.)
